What is Each Group Working On?

BPM+ Health and COVID-19 Use Cases - In recognition of the urgency of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have been doing some community brainstorming, led by a small “Tiger Team” of clinical stakeholders, to identify areas of need that intersect with community capabilities.  A short list of recommendations follows, presented for discussion among the BPM+ Health Working Groups this week. Access list of COVID-19 use cases under consideration.

Authoring Working Group

  • Develop an action plan to document lessons learned from all authoring efforts, including best practices, methods, and compliance to standards
  • Capture all authoring initiatives planned by BPM+ Health members
  • Develop a “checklist” and/or written description of use case development requirements for BPM+ Health
  • Develop short list of potential pathways to develop
  • Begin work on a Step-by-Step Guide for professional organizations to author clinical pathways

Implementer Working Group

  • Review model implementation efforts and approaches to date
  • Document what works, lessons learned
  • Refine the requirements (e.g., metadata) placed on a model to make it operational
  • Define the operationalization process (conceptual) as a ref architecture for the community
  • Identify exemplars of this process and recognize them as reference implementations

Methodology Working Group

  • Review version 2.0 of the Field Guide to Shareable Clinical Pathways
  • Discuss next steps for the Field Guide, including the capture and model effect of clinical guidelines or actions
  • Review new notation standards under development

Institutional Adoption Working Group

  • Review of other BPM+ Health work groups and how they should intersect/interface with the adoption work
  • Review the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for BPM+ adoption that is nearing publication
  • Discuss the need and approach to develop a playbook/implementation user guide to accompany the CMM

Academic and Professional Education Working Group

  • Introduce this new Working Group to BPM+ Health members and participants
  • Discuss its proposed charter, proposed deliverables, and how the group may interface with other Working Groups
  • Discuss meeting cadence going forward
